  Stone Fence Theatre
G'day, Stone Fence Theatre fans,
We're so happy to tell you season tickets are now on sale.

In 2018, our fifteenth anniversary season, we present a new original: I Come from the Valley! Tales and Times of Joan Finnigan, by Ish Theilheimer, with Johanna Zomers, directed by Chantal Elie-Sernoskie. This all-new musical brings to life some of the stories that the Valley's most illustrious author collected and also the tumultuous times she lived through. Joan, who published 28 books, was the daughter of one of the NHL's first super-stars, Frank Finnigan, and she was raised in Roaring '20s Ottawa. Her parents came from Shawville, her second home as a child, where she absorbed the Valley's story-telling tradition. The play features Fran Pinkerton as Joan, with music by the Donohue Family of Douglas. This music itself, as befits Joan Finnigan, is based on traditional Irish and Celtic, so the Donohues, with their skills and flair, are a good fit. Whether you're one of Joan Finnigan's many fans or just someone who really loves the Valley, as Joan did, you'll want to see this one.

Seventeen performances are planned, with five summer supper shows in Rankin, one in Barry's Bay, and a stop in Sheenboro, Quebec. In fall, there will be performances in Westmeath, Almonte, Rankin (with supper), Shawville, Killaloe, Renfrew (with supper), Deep River and Ottawa, all places that Joan knew and loved.

This year's concert is an Ottawa Valley Jubilee, Tuesday, August 9, featuring the Ottawa Valley's favourite singer, Gail Gavan, who returns to Stone Fence Theatre after several years' absence, with one of the Valley's, and Canada's, greatest fiddlers, Louis Schryer, and a host of other guests to help celebrate Stone Fence Theatre's 15th anniversary. There's a strict attendance limit at the hall in Rankin, so we suggest you buy early. Last year, we had to turn people away from our ceidligh.

Tickets for all shows are now on sale at www.stonefence.ca/tickets , or by phone at 1-866-310-1004.
