  Eganville Escape Room

The Eganville Curling Club is launching the Eganville Escape Room on June 16 which will remain open until early September. We have constructed a room in the club basement as a fundraiser.  We are doing a less intense theme in order to appeal to more people.  The door will not be locked so players can leave if they want.  However, the game room will still be challenging and will involve solving a mystery.  This will require your group to work efficiently as a team as time is limited to one hour. Ideal for teams of 4 to 6 players, the game is best suited to ages 12 and up (under 18 year old must be accompanied by an adult).
Our theme is The Big Game.  It has long been known that back in 1970 a solid gold trophy was won by Eganville curlers. Unfortunately, the team that won the trophy have all passed away but rumour has it that the trophy remains hidden in the club basement after all these years. With a current value of over $25,000, that trophy would go a long way towards covering our piping repairs. But where is the elusive trophy? Does your team have the ability to peel back time, unravel the story of that epic curling season and find the trophy? Only time will tell.

  Whitewater Kings Hockey Volunteers

The new Whitewater Kings hockey organization are seeking volunteers for game day duties for the 2017-2018 season. The information meeting will be held on Thursday, July 27th at 7:00 pm at the Arena in Cobden. There are many responsibilities necessary to stage a game in the CCHL2, including off ice officials, public address announcers, canteen staff, security, door people, music, and video staff, among others. Experience is not essential, but it would be helpful. Training will be provided by the Kings Operations Manager, Jamie McConnell.

We encourage all hockey fans to take a strong interest in their Junior hockey team and volunteer their services in a variety of capacities. These volunteer positions would be beneficial for High School students as they are required to complete 40 hours of volunteer service to obtain their High School diploma. In the end, after all positions are filled we hope to build a warm, hospitable volunteer staff, committed to ensuring that local hockey fans enjoy the experience.

For any additional information, please contact the Whitewater Kings Operations Manager, Jamie McConnell at 613-717-2710 or wwkingsops@hotmail.com. Applications will be made available at the meeting on July 27th. Those selected will be contacted for an interview/meeting to assure that you are placed in the correct position.
