 Holy Cross Catholic Secondary's School to Community Pathways class, in partnership with the Ontario Electronic Stewardship, will be hosting an electronic waste depot, at HCC.  The Electronic Waste Depot will run Nov. 1-8 during school hours and Saturday and Sunday Nov. 4 & 5 9am-12:30pm. Please remember to remove personal data (photos and documents) off devices.  Recycle Bins will be located around back by the auto shop garage doors.

  Salvation Army Kettle Campaign

An annual campaign for the Salvation Army is back for another year to help raise funds during the holiday season. The Strathroy Salvation Army Kettle Campaign kicks off November 16th for 3 days then every day from November 23rd to December 23rd. The campaign will be set up again this year at Wal-Mart, Canadian Tire, Giant Tiger, Superstore in STrathroy and also at the Food Market in Mt. Brydges. Volunteer shifts are two hours long and anyone interested in volunteering can contact the Salvation Army on Maitland Street or call 519-245-5398.

  VON Trivia Challenge

The VON Elgin Middlesex is hoping for another good year for the Trivia Challenge fundraising event. The organization is hoping to break new records for this event. VON Fund Development Coordinator, Julie Simpson says this event appeals to everyone as they usually bring in about 500 people and there's more than just trivia happening as there will be a huge silent auction. She says all funds raised stay in the Elgin and Middlesex VON communities. The VON Trivia Challenge will be held Novemeber 17th at the Convention Centre in London. The holidays are coming! Start your shopping early at the Multiple Sclerosis Society's Two of a Kind Vendor Show! With over fifty unique vendors, there will be something for everyone on your list! 
This community event and fundraiser for the Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society, South West Chapter, will take place on November 19th at Van Luyk Garden Centre (1728 Gore Road London, ON) from 10a.m. to 5p.m. 
Admission will be $3 a person, $5 a family and children are free. 
Admission cost and 10% of sales go to support the Multiple Sclerosis Society in our local community. 
Canada has one of the highest rates of MS in the world. Just by choosing Canada, you and your family have an increased chance of being diagnosed with MS.
The MS Society, South West Chapter, offers a variety of supportive programs for people living with MS and their families including self help groups, education events and our Day Away program.  Our equipment program provides mobility aids like scooters, wheelchairs.  Additionally, the MS Society funds critical research in order to find new treatments and ultimately a cure. 
Come out and do TWO great things - support a cause and pick up some unique gifts!

  Let's Do Brunch For Crohn's and Colitis

Again this year we will be holding our Annual Let's Do Brunch.
Our menu includes ham, sausage, eggs, pancakes, toast, muffins, fruit, juice, coffee and tea. The majority of our food is generously donated by local grocers, food distributors, meat processing businesses and volunteers which greatly defrays the cost of putting on this event.  This means more of our fundraising dollars go straight to research and support. 
Crohn's and Colitis Canada is the only national, volunteer-based charity focused on finding the cures for Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. Crohn's and Colitis Canada also provides education programs for patients, their families and the general public.

Tickets for adults are $12 advance or $15 at the door, half price for youth 7-12 and children 6 and under are free.

  Lower Thames Valley Conservation Authority brings "Season's Greetings"

The Lower Thames Valley Conservation Authority brings "Season's Greetings" to you all at Longwoods Road Conservation Area and the Ska-Nah-Doht Village and Museum on Sunday, November 26 from noon until 4 pm.  Enjoy an afternoon of family activities that will be sure to leave you in the Winter Spirit!  Just $8 per vehicle!  Coin or credit card at the Pay and Display Machine at the Entrance.  

Take a Horse Drawn Wagon Ride through the park ... pulled by a team of majestic Belgian horses from Bar H Ranch of Melbourne!  Hot food sales from the Mount Brdyges Lions Club!  And Listen to the Songs of the Season with 'Imagine That' Quartet!

Recycle those old Greeting Cards into seasonal crafts!  Bring out your own old cards or use some of ours!  We will have plans and supplies for you in the Resource Centre to design your own unique creation to take home!  Great for the kids!  

Trim a Tree for the Birds!  Don't forget to share some goodies with the birds at Longwoods!  Create tasty wildlife treats inside a cozy log cabin.  Materials supplied.  Then outside, trim a tree with your goodies for our feathered friends and other wildlife! (a peanut free activity) 

Shop in the Resource Centre for that one of a kind Holiday gift!  Featuring "The Glass Tree - Stained Glass Designs" by local artist Elvira Pupinski and Longwoods' "Turtle Trail Gift Shop" - Beadwork, Stained Glass, Leather Craft.  New this year "e-Scapes Photography the Visual Healer" by Vicki McKay and the photography of Justin Garant.

Learn about Feeding Winter Birds Outside at our Feeder Station.  Then enjoy a Guided Family Friendly Nature Walk along the Carey Carolinian Arboretum and Trail!  Warm up afterwards with a hot chocolate!

  Parkhill Santa Claus Parade

Parkhill Santa Claus Parade will be held on Sunday, November 26 at 5:30pm. The theme is 'A Canadian Christmas'

Anyone is welcome to enter a float, no registration is required, arrive by 4:45 behind the Parkhill Arena. 

Visit the town hall/library after the parade to meet Santa & Mrs Claus and enjoy activities, treats and hot chocolate.

The GEMS Girls Club, for all girls in gr. 2-8. We meet every Monday from 7-8:45 pm for singing, badge work, Bible study, craft nights, special nights and just loads of fun. Any girl in gr. 2-8 is welcome to join any Monday at 7 pm at the Strathroy East Christian Reformed Church.
