  Be the Change Breakfast
The Middlesex County coordinating committee to end violence against women (a coalition of the Strathroy Caradoc Police Department, Victim Services Middlesex, Children's Aid Society, Changing Ways and the Women's Rural Resource Centre) are presenting "Be the Change!" our first annual breakfast to encourage and celebrate everyone's contribution to ending violence against women.

The event is scheduled to take place on September 12th at 7am! This breakfast promises to be a much anticipated event in our community. We will have a great breakfast served by the Strathroy Lions club, guest speakers include Tim Carey President CAW local 27 and Kim Gibson, local advocate.

Thursday, September 13th there will be a Line Dancing Party with fun for all ages and dancing abilities being held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 116, 266 Metcalfe St West in Strathroy from 7:00 to 10:00 pm. Arts, culture, and heritage will be celebrated in hundreds of cities and towns from coast to coast to coast, with thousands of FREE activities from a wide range of disciplines including: visual arts, music, dance, theatre, architecture, heritage, film and video, literature, culinary arts and new media.

Many activities are planned to take place right here in Strathroy and the surrounding area. Here is just a small sample: The Art Group Strathroy's Studio Tour - which includes 8 stops and features 17 talented artists; Open Doors Middlesex - themed "Defending a Nation", this tour includes 12 historically significant stops as well as the launch of the Longwoods Barn Quilt Trail; Karen Caughlin Studio - carving or painting on slate, plus art exhibit, and many more. It's not too late to join in! Join us on Saturday September 29, 2019 at 8:00 PM in the SDCI/HCC Auditorium for the 6th one man play in the Wingfield Series entitled " Wingfield's Inferno."

A devestating fire at the Orange Hall in Larkspur leaves it a smouldering ruin. Walt Wingfield leads the charge to get it rebuilt, but lighting a fire under his fellow committee members proves a daunting task. Is it courage they lack or is the devil in the details.
