The Exeter fire department will be hosting an open house on Thursday, October 13th from 5-7 PM. The event will feature colouring contests, touch the truck, hot dogs and hamburgers and much more. The fire department is located at 55 William Street in Exeter.

  Spooky Trail Run
The zombies are back! Saturday, October 15, 2016 Windmill Lake Wake & Eco Park Spooky Kids Dash: 9:45am 2K & 5K Zombie Run: 10am Do you dare to run the Spooky Trail at Canada's only wind-driven saw and grist mill? Who knows what ghosts and zombie ghouls the place has been hiding for all these years... ? Register for the 2K or 5K fun runs (untimed) and try to survive the zombies who will be lurking in the woods and along the lake trail. You'll receive 3 lives and your goal is to 'survive' the course by making the finish line with at least 1 life remaining. Don't worry the zombies don't move real quickly. being undead and all.. OR - choose to run the trail as an 'invisible', where you just get to run by & watch the zombies take on the runners around you.   The Pinery Park Fall Classic Fun/Run
The Friends of the Pinery Park is hosting the last event of the 2016 Runpiker series. This event is a fund raiser for various activities at the Park. Registration is on-line or at the event starting at 8am. There is a 200m Fawn run at 9:15 and at 9:30 there is a 2k Run/walk. At 10am, 10:05 and 10:10 there are a series of races of either 10 km or 5 km races and two are designed for wheelchairs along with run/walks. There is a 4.8 km trail run at 10:10 am. Registration on line is either $20.00 for the 2 km run/walks or $25.00 for the longer races.. At the event it is $30.00 for the 2km or $35.00 for the longer races. Entrance to the Park for this event is free. There is an online pledge form that will give you free registration if the money raised is over $100.00. The awards ceremony will be after the 10km run/walk. There are many door prizes and food will be available after the race.
