  Huron County Food Bank Distribution Centre Dinner
The Huron County Food Bank Distribution Center is holding a dinner and silent auction fundraiser event in Vanastra on August 7th. Tickets are $50/ plate - and a $25 charitable donation receipt will be issued. Please contact zielman@huroncountyfoodbank.org or call 519 913 2362 to purchase yours today. HCFBDC is a warehouse taking in cash and food donations and redistributing to local food banks and Aid Agencies, within Huron County and beyond. We are working together to end hunger in our community.

  CiB Judges are Coming to South Huron
The Judges are Coming to the Municipality of South Huron, ON! The Municipality of South Huron is participating in the 2014 Ontario Edition of Communities in Bloom. The Communities in Bloom judges, Paul Ronan from Milton, ON and Heather Lyons from Goderich, ON will evaluate the Municipality of South Huron on August 7 and 8. Communities in Bloom is a Canadian non-profit organization committed to fostering civic pride, environmental responsibility, beautification and to improving quality of life through community participation and a national challenge. The Provincial results will be announced in Lambton Shores, ON during the Awards Ceremonies on September 13 2014.

  Canadian War Brides and Families Reunion
The Canadian War Brides Reunion 2014 will be held in London, Ontario this year. This will be a great opportunity meet old and new friends, war brides their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren! It takes place at the London Delta Armouries August 8-10th. The downtown London Public Library will also host internationally acclaimed artist Bev Tosh who has mounted exhibitions in several countries. Her talk is open to the public.   ONE CARE Annual Golf Tournament
ONE CARE Home & Community Support Services is set to host its annual fundraising Golf Tournament on Saturday, August 9 at Woodlands, Links, Clinton starting at 10 a.m. The tournament includes 18 holes or 9 holes of golf, and the fee includes a cart, a full steak dinner, and excellent prizes for everyone. Golfers are asked to register by August 1. The cost is $85.00 for 18 holes and $65.00 for 9 holes. On August 9th and 16th, at the Hensall District Co-op, Londesborough Location, Huron County 4-H will be raising money through a electronics depot. The event runs from 8 AM to 3 PM on both days. 4-H groups will be on site to take and sort used, old, and unwanted electronics for you. We hope to see you there!   Western Ontario Baseball Association Pee Wee Championship Tournament
The 2014 Western Ontario Baseball Association (WOBA) Pee Wee Championship and Consolation tournaments will be held in Exeter August 15-17th. There will be 15 teams competing with teams from as far away as Owen Sound. Both of the local Exeter teams qualified for the Championship division and play Friday night. Games will be played at the South Recreation Center and Wagner field throughout the weekend. Come out and support the local players in their quest to end a successful season with a Championship.
