  Eganville Escape Room

There is now an Escape Room in Eganville!  Escape rooms are fun, team building, puzzle solving experiences that are the latest big entertainment trend.  The Eganville Curling Club has created a room that will be open June 16 until early September.  This escape room has a fun theme called "The Big Game" and you're not actually locked in so there is nothing scary about it.  All ages from teenagers to seniors will enjoy it so find a group of 4 to 6 people and see if your team can peel back time and solve the mystery within the one hour time limit.
This is a fundraiser completely built and operated by volunteers with all proceeds going to the Eganville Curling Club.  We greatly appreciate any promotion that you may be able to give this event.

For online booking and more information, please visit www.eganvillecurling.ca/EscapeRoom

Gem, Mineral & Jewellery Show and Sale

The Ottawa Lapsmith and Mineral Club (OLMC) presents its 51st annual Gem, Mineral & Jewellery Show and Sale on September 16-17, at the Nepean Sportsplex.  This event features more than 60 dealers with something for everyone:  rough and polished stones, fossils, metorites, one-of-a-kind jewellery, carvings and other stone crafts, books and machinery.  A number of organizations have been invited to provide fascinating information about local geology and mineralogy.  Bring an unusual stone to the show, and people will help to identify it.

Volunteers from the OLMC will be there to demonstrate the art of lapidary and club activities -- making cabochons, faceting stones and stone carving.  Some members will sell their unique jewellery at the "Club Creation Corner".  Children can fish for polished stones at the Fish Pond, and learn how to make "rock critters" and other creations at the Kid's Craft Table.

All of this activity is packed into two days Sept. 16, 10 am - 6 pm and Sept. 17, 10 am - 5 pm, at the Nepean Sportsplex Curling Rink.  The daily entrance fee is $8 at the door, but children 12 years old and younger may enter at no charge.
