  Historic Dominion Day

Celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday with an 1860’s celebration! Learn about the First Nations perspective on Confederation and their contributions to the development of the nation at Lang Pioneer Village. 
The event runs from 10 am to 4 pm.

Mayor of the City of Kawartha Lakes Andy Letham will be hosting his summer Town Hall meeting across the city.

A meeting will be from 7-830 p.m. at Norland Recreation Centre.

The theme of the meetings this year is Finding the Balance.

All are welcome to attend and there will be time for questions and discussion throughout the program.

  21st Annual Transportation Day Car & Motorcycle Show

Car enthusiasts from across Ontario showcase their antique & classic cars and vintage motorcycles with over 50 trophies to be won. 

The event runs at Lang Pioneer Village from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.

  Video Game Launch

In a mission to bring Canada’s sports, heroes and culture to the gaming space, President David Winter and Vice-President Sheryl Loucks combined their background of game developing and administrative skills to make Canuck Play a reality.
Now, Canuck Play is ready to release the first Canadian football sports game to be released on XBox One and Steam for PC players.
Speakers to include David Winter - Canuck Play President, Sheryl Loucks - Canuck Play Vice-President, and Michael Skinner - President & CEO of the Innovation Cluster.

  'Art Splash'

The Canadian Mental Association Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge (CMHA HKPR) are inviting the public to participate in the 4th annual "Art Splash".

The engaging visual arts presentation where YOU are the artist will take place from 1pm-4pm on the sidewalk on Victoria Avenue, between Kent and Peel Streets.

Chalk will be donated from Crayola Crayons for the community to write anything positive on the sidewalk to inspire and motivate passerbys.

The goal of the Art Splash is to break the Stigma of Mental Illness in the community.

  Minister Thibeault to Visit Chamber

Peterborough will be getting a visit from Ontario's Energy Minister this week.

It has been announced, Glenn Thibeault will be in the city speaking at a 'Power Lunch' put on by the Chamber of Commerce at Peterborough Golf and Country Club.

The event will run from 11:45 to 1:30 and it will feature a question and answer period.

Tickets are $25 for Chamber members and $35 for non-chamber members.
